17-Year-Old Boy Dies after Serious East Longmeadow Crash

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB) – A Connecticut teen has died after a serious crash Wednesday night.

Police say that the a car driven by 17-year-old Nicholas Coleman was on Prospect Street when it crashed into a tree. The accident was discovered by a neighbor around 8:00 p.m.

Coleman, who lived in Somers, Conn., was taken to Baystate Medical Center, but Manning says that Coleman died from his injuries Thursday afternoon.

East Longmeadow and State Police continue to investigate the crash, but Manning says that speed appears to be a factor.

Prospect Street was closed for a time, but reopened around midnight.

It would’ve been better journalism to at least have reported the make and model of the car as well as what the news crew saw as road conditions.

@Mike!!! Why is this funny. A life has lost due to an accident. His parents have lost a child and you are making a joke out of this. What is wrong with you!!!!!!
    My condolences to the family

People who laugh at any aspect of this aweful scene never lost a loved one in an accident. I lost my nephew at 17 in a car accident 7 years ago and still have moments of depression. Use some empathy if you have any, there are family members reading this stuff.
