Holyoke Health Center Celebrates Soon-to-Open Dental Program

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — In Holyoke Thursday, Congressmen John Olver and Richard Neal were recognized for their support of community health centers.

The event at the Holyoke Health Center highlighted dental health access for children.

Plans are now underway to develop a pediatric dental center, thanks to help from federal stimulus money and congressional support.

“What we’re trying to do is ensure that every child has a dental home and we can attack on the front end, some of the problems of children’s dental health to become a serious problem in this country,” says Jay Breines, Executive Director for the Holyoke Health Center.

The center is scheduled to be open in about six months.

They will serve children in all of western Massachusetts.
