Car Drives into Springfield Home, Sending Driver to the Hospital

SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) — One person is in the hospital Sunday morning, following a crash into a Springfield home.

Police say this happened at 140 Wait Street when a car drove through a section of the home and ended up in the backyard.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was initially trapped inside the vehicle, but officials were eventually able to pull him out.

He was brought to Baystate Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

ABC40 spoke with Patricia O’Neill, the owner of the home, and she described the moments following the crash.

“I saw that both doors of the breezeway were wide open, and that’s when I saw the hole in the wall.”

ABC40 will continue to track this story, and will update you as soon as more information becomes available.
