I’m pretty sure that was the best route to transport the space shuttle. I don’t think they would had found a better route that wouldn’t required them to cut down trees and not spend any money. you gotta spend money to make money that’s how it goes.

I have seen them, put on a 747 to transport….was there not a landing field close by?

You would think they would have pre-run the route to find out if power lines and trees were in the way!
