Ride to Provide for UMass HillelAMHERST, Mass. (WGGB) — It started off a little gloomy, but the rain didn’t stop dozens of bikers from participating in UMass Hillel’s 6th Annual Ride to Provide.
Teams of five traversed through nine, 18, and 36 mile courses — and raised plenty of money along the way.
Those funds were then split 50/50. Each team got to keep half for their organization. The other half will fund community service trips for members of UMass Hillel…
“It’s kind of amazing to be able to give back and now be able to do this with my own children,” says UMass Hillel alumnus Scott Kaplan. “I was here, obviously a young student, and now to have my wife and two young girls participating in this event — giving back to a school they may go to in the future — is just amazing.”
After the ride, bikers got a chance to dry off and refuel at the Umass Hillel house.
