BOSTON (AP) — Supreme Judicial Court Justice Ralph Gants will present awards to attorneys and law firms for providing free legal services for the poor and disadvantaged.
This year’s winners are: Susan Corcoran, for her work representing survivors of domestic violence at the Community Legal Services and Counseling Center in Cambridge; Dorothy Varon, for her achievements in developing a pro bono program at Mass Mutual Life Insurance Co.; Steven Dzubak, for his pro bono work on environmental legal issues while a student at Western New England University School of Law; and DLA Piper LLP, Boston, for the firm’s commitment to pro bono services through a partnership with Massachusetts Advocates for Children.
The 11th annual John Adams Pro Bono Publico Awards will be handed out on Oct. 24 at the John Adams Courthouse.
