Crime Files: Belmont Avenue Attack Suspects

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Springfield Police are on the look-out for two suspects they say are responsible for a violent attack on Belmont Avenue.

“They’re wanted for intimidating a witness and also assault and battery,” says Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney

Springfield Police say these two suspects, 21 year-old Anthony Gomes and 19 year-old Lazareth ‘Lucky’ Serrano, are known trouble-makers and are allegedly behind a vicious attack in this parking lot two months ago.

Police say the 22 year old victim was walking to the supermarket from his house across the street when a grey Honda shows up and Gomes and Serrano get out.

Delaney adds, “They exchanged words to the point where he was saying ‘go ahead, say something now.’ They got out of the car and beat him up pretty bad.”

The victim was taken to the hospital and the two suspects fled.

Police say they both have addresses in Forest Park, and Gomes has an additional one on College Street.

If you see Gamble or Serrano, call 911 or you can send police an anonymous tip. Just text it to CRIMES (274637) and in the message type SOLVE and your tip.
