WASHINGTON (AP) — An Associated Press polls finds that racial attitudes have not improved in the four years since the United States elected its first black president.
A slight majority of Americans now express prejudice toward blacks whether they recognize those feelings or not.
The AP survey finds that those views could cost President Barack Obama votes as he tries for re-election, though the effects are mitigated by some Americans’ more favorable views of blacks.
In all, 51 percent of Americans now express explicit anti-black attitudes, compared with 48 percent in a similar 2008 survey. When measured by an implicit racial attitudes test, the number of Americans with anti-black sentiments jumped to 56 percent, up from 49 percent in 2008.
In both tests, the share of Americans expressing pro-black attitudes fell.
Cue the “Republicans are racist” rhetoric.
Cue the “people are racist” reality… we are naturally predisposed to fear what’s different. Intellect is supposed to overcome emotion from time to time, unfortunately most people cannot seem to do that.

I’m willing to bet all those polled were rich white people. Why don’t they poll the average working class whites. I voted for President Obama the first and I’m voting for him again because I’m predjudice against pompous arrogant men who only care about money i.e., MR. ROMNEY!

Maybe if some of you actually READ the article,you’ll see it’s not all about Obama. If 90% of blacks vote for him, it doesn’t mean we are prejudice OR racist. It means we FINALLY have a candidate we can believe in who happens to be black. Give us a break, we voted white for the past 43 presidents, you had no issues with it then!
