Being from Louisiana, I've lived through my share of hurricanes and tornados. My family was vacationing in Florida when Hurricane Andrew hit. Mother Nature is not a force to reckon with. GOOD TIME! Am I worried about this storm? A little yes and a little no. With a storm like this, you never know what they are capable of until your staring at it. Could it end up a little thunderstorm? Sure. Could we get the fire beat out of us? Yelp! Just prepare like you would for any kind of bad weather and ride it out. Rain and wind doesn't bother me. Its y'alls snowstorms that make me crawl in a corner and cry!

Yea Sue, I remember that October snowstorm a year ago. How they kept telling us it was going to snow and that trees would probably come down and knock out power lines. And then it really did happen and a lot of people were without power for a week or more. Good times!

@ Sue, have you ever Ben through a "real" hurricane? The path and touchdown are always uncertain until really, the last minute. Hense why they have the cone of uncertainty ..... I lived in Florida for 8 years, have been through a dozen tropical storms and hurricanes. Once in the cold water, which is common knowledge, they weaken alot as well as hitting landfall. You would probably be the first one to complain if they didn't make a big deal and have every prepare for the worst.
