Warren Agrees to Rescheduled Mass. Senate Debate

BOSTON (AP) — Democratic Senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren has agreed to participate in a fourth and final televised Senate debate on Thursday.

The debate was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown pulled out because of “concern for the hardship faced by people” in the path of superstorm Sandy. Warren later also agreed that the debate should not take place Tuesday.

Brown’s campaign has not said whether he has agreed to debate Thursday. Earlier Monday, Brown said there “certainly” would be a fourth debate.

In a statement, Warren’s campaign manager said the focus over the next 48 hours must be on public safety and “holding the utilities accountable for restoring power as soon as possible.”

Both and Warren were touring the state Tuesday to assess storm damage.
