Some Holyoke Kids Still Trick-or-Treat Despite Postponement by City

Holyoke, Mass. (WGGB)  – Holyoke and Monson may have postponed Halloween festivities out of concern for kids’ safety after Hurricane Sandy, but that didn’t stop some parents from taking their kids out anyway.

Our crew took a trip to Holyoke and while they didn’t see too many people out on the street, one parent admitted he didn’t want to deprive his kid of the holiday.

Neighbors also had their candy ready despite the delay.

“They’re still handing out candy.  People are still out there handing out candy.  I am glad that they are still doing it,” explains parent, Kevin Perez.

Holyoke will have Trick or Treating festivities Saturday night and Monson will have Trick-or-Treating and their Halloween parade Sunday evening.
