Rose-Marie Amaker was sentenced Wednesday in Hampden Superior Court to 2 1/2 years behind bars, with a year to serve and the remainder suspended for five years.
She was ordered to repay the woman $8,000, and another $40,000 to the bank that has already reimbursed the victim.
The thefts were noticed in January by the bank, which called the victim’s guardian to alert him to suspicious activity with her account.
The 27-year-old Amaker’s husband is also facing charges. His case is pending.
The Republican reports that a defense lawyer says Amaker has no prior record and stole to feed a drug addiction.
