NORFOLK, Mass. (AP) — Police in Holyoke have arrested a prison inmate who escaped from a work detail in Norfolk.
Department of Correction spokeswoman Diane Wiffin says 45-year-old Juan Lugo escaped around noon Friday as he was with a facility work crew at Baystate Correctional Center. He was serving a 12-to-14-year sentence for armed robbery from Hampden County. Wiffin said he was eligible for parole in 2015.
Lugo, who formerly lived in Holyoke, was taken back into custody there shortly before 6 p.m.
