Westfield Mother at Center of AMBER Alert Ordered Held until Late Nov.

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A Westfield mother that took her 3-month-old baby without permission and triggering an AMBER Alert is going to remain in Virginia for several more weeks.

Friday, Cheryl Kozaczek, 28, was given a court appointed attorney in a Virginia courtroom.

Kozaczek has been also ordered held without bail until November 29 where she will appear for a preliminary and extradition hearing.

On Wednesday, Kozaczek left with her 3-month-old daughter around 1:00 a.m. She does not have legal custody of the child.

Their disappearance set off an AMBER Alert. The pair were found around 2:30 p.m. near Waverly, Virginia in the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck they were believed to have left in.

The baby is currently in state custody.
