SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WGGB) — A Nor’easter gave the Pioneer Valley it’s first snow fall Wednesday night.
The snow’s premiere got mixed reviews.
“It’s okay, it’s pretty. I don’t like to shovel it,” said Martin Lee, Southwick.
“Right now hate it, too cold for me,” said Kelly Gromoski, Palmer.
“I don’t like it. Way too cold,” said Toni-Ann Galanis, Chicopee.
The few inches of snow was enough to cover sidewalks, lawns and cars. It forced people to reach for the ice scraper.
“Every year it sneaks up on ya. You’re never ready for winter,” said Alan Campbell, Springfield.
Speed on the Mass Pike was dropped to 40 mph amid multiple spin outs and icy conditions.
“Coming over the pass it was real slick in the left lane. Got slick, jack knifed a little bit,” said Curtis Travis, driving truck on I-90.
Warmer weather is expected to melt the snow in the coming days.
