WMECO Crews Go to New Jersey to Help Restore Power

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Utility crews from Western Mass. are heading out to help crews still working to restore power from this week’s Nor’easter.

“Mutual aid is a proud and time-honored tradition of utilities helping utilities,” said Peter Clarke, President of WMECo. “The same principle that sends our crews to assist others in their time of need also promises help when disaster strikes here at home.”

Tens of thousands of customers in New Jersey still haven’t had power restored after they lost it during hurricane sandy.

WMECO tells ABC40 that ample crews will still stay in Western Mass. for our own upkeep.
