Okay But it said NOTHING about damaged clothing or anything like that just used...whatever its better than nothing...And the fact that WGGB just aired a report of a women raising money because of that boy without socks...just proves that THEY DO NEED CLOTHES. They need money yes that is no argument right there. But once they get back into homes they will need these items...as for being ashamed to wear the clothes....dont be so stuck up to wear those clothes. Clothes are clothes. Appreciate what people try to help with. if you dont want to wear it dont take it...its that simple. But they should never say "its not needed" because somewhere it is.

Even with food, Danielle, it's best to give $$.. even $5. Organizations already in the ground at a disaster can leverage that $5 into $15 or more worth of food. They have the contacts with local grocery wholesalers to do so. And they can also put that $$ towards perishable like milk for children.

It's better to give food or even $10 or even nothing at all than to just dump unwanted stuff in a box and pass it on. If you can't afford to help give nothing don't make more of a mess for everyone. Most intentions are probably good though its just tough

But there are, William. Used clothing that you or I would be ashamed to wear out in public, broken toys and puzzles with pieces missing, canned good that have been gathering dust in the back of pantries for a year or two, stained/torn used bedding & blankets. If you'd be shamed to wear it, serve it to your family, sleep on it, assume it's playable as is... Don't Donate It. All you are doing is clogging the logistics pipeline and stripping dignity from those who've already suffered enough. Don't assume that someone should be grateful for a bra with worn out elastic or a pair of shoes with rundown heels. It's not about that sort of demeaning charity. For folks who've lost everything material, they should not be forced to lose their God given dignity.
