Robber Armed with a Butcher Knife Holds Up Springfield Convenience Store

Springfield, Mass. (WGGB) —  A man armed with a butcher knife robbed a Springfield convenience store Friday night.

That’s according to Police Lt. Rupert Daniel who says they received the call at 8:35 p.m. Friday for an armed robbery at Tedeschi Food Shops.

The business is located at 266 Belmont Avenue.

Daniel says no one was injured in the incident, but the suspect did make off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are actively investigating this robbery and say the suspect fled on foot down Forest Street.

The armed robber is described as a Hispanic male, wearing a red baseball cap with large white lettering, jeans, dark sneakers and a white t-shirt, with a gray zip-up hoodie that has gold writing on it.
