Newborn turkeys, or poults, come right from the hatchery where they are raised for 12 -28 weeks. The family farm originated in 1989 with 500 turkeys and this year they nurtured over 5,000!
By purchasing your bird raised in Western Mass you can directly meet with the caregivers to guarantee a fresh, organic meal.
Owner Peter Diemand explains, “We do feed all natural food which we buy out of Glastonbury CT and the water comes from our own land.”
Anne Diemand Bucci adds, “That’s one of the comments we get every year: how clean our turkeys are.”
This year the Diemand family will sell about 3,500 turkeys for the Thanksgiving holiday. The turkeys range from 11 to 31 pounds.
Turkey-eaters from all over look forward to this main dish from their favorite neighborhood farm.
“We’ve been coming for years, 10 years at least, and we come to support the local business. Its great turkey!” says Laura DiBari from Northfield.
