Mass. Junior Hockey Coach Arrested on Fla. Charge

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts junior hockey league coach is facing charges he tried to seduce two Florida boys online.

The Fall River Herald-News reports 41-year-old Anthony DeSilva of Acushnet was arraigned Thursday on a fugitive charge and will go to Polk County, Fla., to face charges of using a computer to seduce a child and transmission of material harmful to a child.

DeSilva is coach and general manager of the Massachusetts Maple Leafs.

The Bristol, Mass., district attorney’s office said DeSilva was arrested Wednesday. Florida authorities said a woman told police a man tried to solicit her 16-year-old son online. Detectives posing as that teen and another 16-year-old communicated online with the man, allegedly DeSilva, and said he described sexual acts and sent them naked pictures.

A telephone listing for DeSilva wasn’t answered Thursday night.
