AIC Students Hold Free Thanksgiving Dinner

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – It was an early turkey day for some Mason Square neighborhood residents in Springfield on Sunday.

American International College held its third annual “My Big Fat Greek Thanksgiving”. The event was held in the Campus Center Auditorium, and the meal was free of charge. It was sponsored by the AIC fraternities and sororities.

Keshawn Dodds, director of Greek Life at AIC, said the event has been a tremendous hit over the years. Last year nearly 100 people took advantage of the free meal.

“We are glad to continue to grow this event for our campus and the Springfield community. It is our way of giving back to the neighborhood as much as they give to the college all year round,” said Dodds.

More than 60 AIC student volunteers representing the various Greek organizations, student government, and other student clubs around campus served the meal.

The Thanksgiving dinner came complete with turkey and all the fixings, including yams, potatoes, collard greens and of course, plenty of dessert.
