SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Two local radio hosts are continuing a nearly two decade long tradition in trying to collect food items for the less fortunate.

The Rock 102 morning duo of Bax and O’Brien are broadcasting for 52 hours from the parking lot of the Basketball Hall of Fame as part of their 2012 Mayflower Marathon. This year marks the 18th year the Marathon has been held in Springfield.

They are working to collect donations and fill three 48-foot tractor trailers with non-perishable food donations for Springfield-based Open Pantry.

The marathon began Monday morning and will run until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.

If you would like to donate some food items, you can just simply stop by the south parking lot of the Hall of Fame.
