Both Roman Catholics and Protestants came together at the First Congregational Church on Lathrop Street to celebrate a Christian Mass and share desserts and friendship.
Pastors say this is a nice time of year to get together.
“It’s an opportunity to get the Protestant and Catholic churches together to celebrate an evening of Thanksgiving. I think it’s good for the community to see, whether you are a Roman Catholic or Protestant, it doesn’t matter, we are working together to meet some of the needs of the community and we are coming together to celebrate God’s goodness in our lives,” says Reverend Bob Smith.
Altogether, 10 churches were involved in the celebration.
St. John’s Episcopal Church in Northampton also held their Thanksgiving Eve Service Wednesday night as well.
