People Line Up Early For Black Friday Deals

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — The lines were long and started early for Black Friday deals.

At the Best Buy at the Holyoke Mall a group of friends set up camp, tent in all Wednesday afternoon.

“I’m probably saving about 50%. I’m paying $180 so,” said Miguel Ramirez.

Ramirez and his friends have lined up at the store early for the last five years.

“What we do is make sure to bundle up and how cold it got we started playing football to warm up a little bit,” said Ramirez.

Everyone in line was hoping to pick up what’s on their list.

“TV and surround sound and tablet,” said Da’Van Sample, Holyoke.

“HD TV 40 inches for $180,” said Dmitriy Sargeyshik, West Springfield.

Best Buy opens at 1 a.m.Friday.

By 8:00 p.m. Thursday a decent line was also formed at the Wal Mart in Chicopee.  That store doesn’t open until 4 a.m. Friday.

The wait was a little less for people over the border in Connecticut.  Stores started opening as early at 8 p.m.

Kodi Kelly and his friend Jessica were second in line at Target in Enfield.  They missed Thanksgiving dinner, but got a special delivery from their family.

“This is tradition from now on. It started 4 years ago this is our 5th and we have been doing it every since,” said Kelly, Agawam.
