Red Cross Service Center for Explosion Victims to Reopen Monday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – A service center set up to help residents effected by the explosion on Worthington Street will be open again on Monday.

Dawn Leaks from the Pioneer Valley Chapter of the Red Cross says that their agencies, and other agencies involved, felt that this service center “should remain open for an additional day to address client recovery needs.”

The center is located at 436 Dwight Street and will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday.

In addition, Red Cross volunteers will be outside that center distributing cleaning items, including dust pans, brooms, safety goggles, face masks, and bags, to residents and businesses during the day to help them begin their clean-up efforts.
