Man held in Fall River woman’s slaying, robbery

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — Authorities in Fall River have charged a man already held on related charges with the shooting death of a woman two months ago.

Bristol District Attorney Sam Sutter said Friday that 20-year-old Brandyn LaPage is charged with murder and armed robbery.

Sutter said 31-year-old Aja Pascual was found Sept. 29 in the driver’s seat of her car, which was still running with the radio on. Sutter said investigators believe LaPage met her to buy drugs, but killed and robbed her instead.

Sutter said police found cell phone records that linked LaPage to Pascual, and arrested him Oct. 2 on weapons and obstruction of justice charges. He pleaded not guilty and has been held on $50,000 cash bail. He’ll be arraigned Thursday on the new charges. It’s not immediately known who is representing him.
