Macy’s Santa Makes a Stop in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – The Basketball Hall of Fame had one very special visitor Sunday afternoon.

Some local Make-A-Wish children and their families got to spend some time with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Santa, who is currently on his “Santa’s Bus Tour” across the country.

The children read a story with Santa, and cheered him on as he shot some baskets on the famous court at the Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Make-A-Wish program grants wishes for children between the ages of 2 and a half and 18 years of age with life-threatening medical conditions.

  1. Macy’s? Didn’t they disavow any connection to Christmas several years ago? I recall that they joined other Christmas hating businesses, politicians and people to suppress the Christmas spirit. What’s up with the change of heart?
