Holyoke Library Construction Project Hits Halfway Mark

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — The City of Holyoke celebrating a milestone with its library project Monday.

Construction at the Holyoke Public Library has reached the halfway mark.

The library’s $14.5 million project focus on renovating the old building, and expanding to include a new children’s room and a room devoted to Holyoke history.

“I think it will be great for the city. The Green High Performance Computer Center is done. The senior center is almost done. The library willbe done in October, so there’s a lot going on in Holyoke. This will be a good thing,” says Terry Plum, President of the Board of Directors of the library.

The city has also raised $2 million for the library. They are hoping to get another $500,000.
