Edelman Placed on IR With Broken Foot; Will Miss Remainder of Season

Foxborough (WGGB) — The New England Patriots have placed Wide Receiver Julian Edelman on Injured Reserve, after he broke his foot in Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins.  Edelman was seen in Miami, on crutches, and wearing a walking boot.  Today, the Patriots placed the wideout on IR.

Edelman caught 21 passes this season, for 235 yards, and three touchdowns.  The fourth-year veteran also scored touchdowns via a punt return and a fumble return. He scored two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts, and two more against the New York Jets.

The Patriots have signed Donte Stallworth, to fill the void created by Edelman’s injury.

The Patriots are next in action on Monday night, against the Houston Texans, at 8:30.
