Fmr. Volunteer Pleads Guilty to Stealing from School

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB) – A former school volunteer has pleaded guilty to stealing tens of thousands of dollars from a Longmeadow school.

48-year-old Annalisa Dagostino-Tollis of East Longmeadow pleaded guilty Tuesday in Springfield District Court, according to Longmeadow Police Capt. John Stankiewicz.

Officials at St. Mary’s School had performed some routine bookkeeping last November and found about $30,000 missing from the school’s gift card fundraising program.

Upon finding the discrepancy and finding that it wasn’t a record-keeping issue, school and diocesan officials immediately contacted Longmeadow Police, who began an investigation which led to Dagostino-Tollis being charged with larceny of more than $250 by a single scheme.

Stankiewicz says that Dagostino-Tollis has been placed on one year of probation and has been ordered to pay $25,000 in restitution.
