SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — The good news is Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are expecting their first baby! The bad news is Middleton is suffering from a rare, but serious type of morning sickness called Hyperemesis Gravidarum.
We spoke to a local mid-wife about how dangerous this condition can be.
“The women with Hyperemesis Gravidarum can’t stop vomiting and experience nausea at such an extent that it’s virtually impossible for her to get enough nutrition or hydration. So this is a dangerous condition. It’s not just uncomfortable. Morning sickness is troubling but isn’t a threat to the mother and the baby. But is actually stressful for the mother and the baby,” explains Midwife, Michelle L’ Esperance.
Sources say Middleton is just 12 weeks pregnant, but the Palace decided to go ahead with the announcement because she was admitted to the hospital
