Report: Sox Sign Shane Victorino

Boston (WGGB) — According to a report from WEEI, the Boston Red Sox have signed former Padres, Phillies and Dodgers outfielder Shane Victorino to a 3-year, $39 million deal.  Victorino spent the final 101 games of 2012 with the Dodgers, after starting the season with the Phillies.

Victorino was a Phillie from 2004-2012, and was a part of Philadelphia’s 2008 World Series Championship team.

Victorino hit .255, with 11 HRs and 55 RBIs in 2012.  His peak season was in 2008, when he hit .293 for the Champion Phillies, with 14 HRs, and 58 RBIs.

Victorino is also strong on the basepaths, recording a career high 39 stolen bases in 2012.

News of the offer was first reported by Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.
