5 People Homeless Following Fire in Palmer

Palmer, Mass. (WGGB) — Firefighters have been able to knock down a fire at an apartment building on Fox Street in Palmer.

That’s according to our crew on scene.

Emergency personnel received the call  just before 9:00 p.m. Thursday for a fire in the area of 26 Fox Street.

Firefighters could be seen spraying down water into the top floor of the building from a ladder truck.

A lot of smoke can still be seen there as well.

Our crew reports someone was removed from the building on a stretcher.

The Monson Fire Department is providing mutual aid to Palmer.

The Red Cross says they are assisting a family of 5 people including 1 handicap individual who have been displaced by the fire.

At this time no further details have been made available.
