SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A casino company is hoping to make a much-needed difference in Springfield.
Penn National Gaming donated a check to Square One daycare center in support of the Worthington Street explosion.
One of Square One’s buildings was heavily damaged in the blast.
Square one also lost a building in the June 2011 tornado.
Penn National says it wants to give back to the community.
“We wanted to express our support, be a good neighbor and show our desire to start giving back and this will be one of many efforts to come,” says Eric Schippers, VP of Public Affairs for Penn National.
Schippers says Penn National employees regularly get involved in giving back to the community.
