SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Two men accused in the shooting death of a Chicopee man are being held without bail.
19-year-old Julian Holly and 18-year-old Ashawnee Duke both appeared in Springfield District Court Friday morning on charges related to murder of Keough Collins of Chicopee.
Police say that on Sunday night, Collins and Duke went to an apartment on Robert Dyer Circle to rob a 31-year-old man.
When the pair tried to rob the victim, a fight broke out. Duke then allegedly pulled out a gun and fired, hitting the robbery victim in the leg and Collins in the head.
Collins died at Baystate Medical Center that night.
Duke was arrested by detectives Thursday morning at his home on Willard Avenue, while Holly turned himself in later that day.
Both are being held without bail until their next court hearing on January 8.

Sad, tragic, pointless, waste of life & youth. Spfld use to be a beautiful place. Now it is unsafe & depressing almost like NYC circa late 80′s.
Jillian was arrested a couple of years ago for armed robbery at it again this time a price was paid
Paratrooper82, Armed Robbery & back on the streets? Really? I don’t get it. Why dont the courts get it. Imagine all the robberies & murders increasing with people leaving the casino when it is built. Fresh meat leaving & coming with money to gamble. It is like sheep being lead to wolves. FACT!

60 years ago crimes like these would happen two or three times a year. Now it’s every week or more.
Progressiveism rules in MA and the Northeast and this is what you get. Liberalism is a mental disorder and one can see the results of this dysfunctional ideology every day on the streets and in the schools of Springfield. The ignorant and brainwashed don’t make the connection between their voting habits the cesspool they’re drowning in… Springfield is so far gone there is no prospect for recovery, depravity is now a way-of-life in the city of homes.
Mick I concur. I ditto your response. “As things fell apart no one seemed to notice or care”- unnamed
