Sex Education Under Review

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — The principal at Pittsfield High School says he’ll review a school sex education course after receiving a complaint about a flier advocating the use of condoms.  The Berkshire Eagle reports  that the flier distributed to about 20 students referred to sex and anatomy in a way that a parent considered crass. Principal Tracey Benson says the material in the sex education class is now under review.  Sarah Gillooly, who teaches the sex education the class, said explicit phrases advocating condom use are intended to promote conversation among young women.  The class is designed to help female students between the ages of 15 and 18 avoid pregnancy and boost their career goals.
