New Recovery Program In Place

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — The Council of Churches of Western Massachusetts has launched a new program.

Faith Recovery in Action is designed to help people with drug or alcohol problems, returning veterans and people re-entering society from jail.

The program also helps people with job preparation, transportation and child care.

“There’s a huge need, we all know that there’s veterans returning from their tour of duty. We have a sincere need and we thought we could fill a gap,” said Timothy Paul, President of the Council of Churches of  Western Mass.

Preparations for the program have been going on since last year.  Forty-five councilors have been trained to make sure the needs are met.

Help is available by calling the Council of Churches of western Massachusetts at 413-733-2149
