Police Investigate Christmas Decoration Thefts in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Some people living on Harkness Street in Springfield say a Grinch is on the loose.

According to police, at least three homes on the street have had their holiday decorations stolen.

Police say they are unsure of the motivation for the crimes, since the items don’t have much monetary value, but for homeowners who have been hit by the thieves, the thefts have put a damper on the holiday season.

“Grinch is running around the neighborhood, stealing ornaments off the front lawn. Christmas trees, stars off the house, things of that nature but it’s a certain neighborhood in East Forest Park. Whoever stole them hit a lot of houses,” says Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney.

Anyone who has information on the thefts should contact Springfield Police.

  1. I live in Holyoke and that happened to us on Halloween. We decorated the whole entire front lawn for over 2 hours with our kids to only have all our **** stolen and our kids disappointed. How pathetic can someone be to steal decorations? Sad…
