NEW SALEM, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have identified the victim of a single-vehicle crash in New Salem last week as a 19-year-old woman from Royalston.
The Northwestern district attorney’s office announced Monday that the victim of Friday’s crash on Route 202 was Amanda Putney.
Police say Putney was driving north at about 1 p.m. on Friday when she lost control and her car struck a tree on the southbound side of the road. Putney was alone in the car and no other vehicles were involved.
Orange emergency personnel and New Salem police were the first to respond to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
