UMass Rape Suspects Appear in Court on Indictments

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB) – The four men indicted on charges related to a reported rape on the UMass campus have appeared before a judge.

18-year-olds Adam Liccardi Justin King, and Emmanuel Bile, along with 17-year-old Caleb Womack, pleaded not guilty in Hampshire County Superior Court Monday afternoon.

The judge set the same bail and bail conditions as they were assigned to them in district court.

Late last week, the suspects were indicted by a grand jury on three counts each of aggravated rape.

Liccardi is also facing one additional charge of rape.

All four are accused of raping a female UMass student in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 13 in her university dorm room.

Next court date is set for March 19.
