Runway Repairs May Force Delay of 2014 Barnes Air Show

BARNES AIR NATIONAL GUARD

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – It appears that the 2014 air show at Barnes Air National Guard may not take off.

Major Matthew Mutti from the 104th Fighter Wing says that the runway at Barnes is set to undergo some necessary and scheduled maintenance and because of that work, the show may not be able to be held at the Westfield base.

Mutti adds that base officials are in discussions with Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee to see if they would be able to hold the 2014 show, and Barnes would then host the 2015 show.

No final decisions though have been made for either event.
