Cody Ross Signs With Diamondbacks

Boston Red Sox Photo DayBoston (WEEI.com) — According to a source, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cody Ross have agreed to a three-year deal. The New York Daily News was first to report the agreement (via Twitter).

Ross, who also was also garnering interest from Rangers, Seattle and Philadelphia, received a two-year offer from the Red Sox. Sox general manager Ben Cherington stated Wednesday that the door was still open for a Ross return, but the two sides hadn’t recently talked.

The 31-year-old hit .267 with an .807 OPS and 22 home runs in 2012 for the Red Sox.
