Season of Giving Turns to Season of Returning
For many, though, the mall is the last place they want to go before or after Christmas.
“I think it’s tough to return because there are so many people in line returning at the same time,” said Jamie Goncalves of Ludlow. “So, you’re almost better off waiting a few extra days after Christmas.”
But if you need to make an exchange, many say this is the day to do it if you want the best chance of finding something else.
“I exchanged pants, pajama, underwear, stuff like that.” said Rachael Augustus from Palmer. “I come back earlier because it’s in stock, because in the next two days, it’s going to be gone.”
Depending on the store people needed to go to, returns were a quick trip or a long wait.
“I just went into American Eagle for an example to return a sweatshirt,” Brian Kelley of Springfield. “And I just walked out. It was terrible. There was like a mile long line. It was pretty bad. “Other stores, you walk in, do you thing and you walk out.”
If you have to return a gift that was bought online, you might be able to avoid the shipping cost. Many companies accept returns of online merchandise at their brick and mortar stores.
