SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Police are actively investigating a home invasion on Dickinson Street in Springfield.
That’s according to the Springfield Police Department.
The incident happened late Thursday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. at 472 Dickinson Street.
Our crew, who was on scene earlier, spoke with the homeowners about what happened.
Grandparents, Jose Rodriguez and Margarita Rodriguez report that 3 men came into their home and bound their wrists while asking where they could find money. The couple did provide the information to them and then were put into the bathroom by the suspects.
The three home invaders made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
While neither Jose nor Margarita were seriously injured in the incident, they do have marks on their wrists where they were bound.
The whole incident lasted about 20 minutes.
Authorities are trying to solve this case.

u really want to know wats shocking. the fact that these were my grandparents and it had nothing to do with drugs. they went for the safe and took alot of money. my grandparents life savings. before ya make any conclusions ya should learn a little more. for those of you that are spanish, my grandparents were sitting down making pasteles when there screen door was broken with a shovel then they made there way in. had a gun to my grandparents head asking for money. yea they live in the elderly apartment complexes on dickinson st next to walgreens. learn ya fact before ya add drugs into the mix

Very sad and disgusting what happen to your grandparents. It had to be someone that knew your grandparents had a safe with money. I would look at family and close friends of the family or maybe even neighbors… Not random…

Too bad the victims didn’t know to keep their life savings in a bank.
