SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — The temperatures are getting cooler and as the seasons change from fall to winter, kids will need winter coats before heading outside.
However, for many children across the area, there is a need for a warm coat.
Now in it’s 33rd year, the Salvation Army’s “Coats for Kids” campaign works to help bridge that gap, and bring coats to kids in need.
From now until October 18, you can bring new or gently used winter coats to several drop-off locations across the area.
Coats for teenagers and adults will also be collected.
Belmont Laundry will then clean all the donated coats, and the Salvation Army will hold a distribution event sometime in November.
Coats can be dropped off at the ABC40 / FOX 6 Studios from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays or at Peter Harris Clothes at 1964 Boston Road in Wilbraham during regular store hours.
