Springfield, Mass (WGGB) – We are waking up the coldest weather of the season and coldest morning since last January.
It’s not record cold, but cold enough. (Record -10 in 2008) With a cold air mass in place, clear skies and a diminishing wind we seen maximum, radational cooling this morning. These conditions have allowed temperatures to free fall to below zero in many locations.
Here is a list of overnight lows:(actual air temps, not wind chills)
Westover Air Reserve Base – (-5) Official Temp
Belchertown -(-7)
North Adams – (-6)
Orange – (-10)
Greenfield – (-3)
South Hadley -(-7)
Wilbraham – (-3)
Amherst – (-7)
Westfield – (0)
Because winds have diminished in most locations the air temperature and wind chill were the same… Stay warm!
