Springfield, Mass (WGGB) - It’s cold this morning but NOT as cold as yesterday when we started out below zero. This morning we’re in the single digits and teens and will end up being about 10-12 degrees warmer this afternoon compared to yesterday when we only reached into the lower 20s. The trade-off is that there will be more wind today. Highs will reach into the low to mid-30s under a mixture of sunshine & clouds.
Tomorrow is looking bright and sunny with highs right around freezing. There will still be a pesky breeze so it will feel a bit colder than the actual temperature. It should be a nice day for most outdoor, winter activities.
A fast-moving, weak system will move our way on Sunday with a few snow showers or a touch of light snow but we are not expecting much. We could see a coating to perhaps an inch in spots. Most of it will melt away as highs reach into the middle 30s by Sunday afternoon. This mini-storm will reinforce the cold for Monday but it’s only going to stick around for about a day because a big warm-up seems to be in the cards for the middle of next week, perhaps a “January thaw” with highs reaching into the 40s.
Have a great day!
