Deer Rescued from Icy Mass. Pond

WALTHAM, Mass. (WGGB) — Some deer needed help after finding themselves stranded on a Middlesex County body of water.

WCVB-TV reports that the Waltham Fire Department along with officers from the Animal Rescue League of Boston and Mass. Environmental Police were called to the Cambridge Reservoir late Friday morning.

Rescuer were able to get one deer back to land, but a second one needed to be rescued on a raft and brought back to shore.

That deer was rescued around 12:30 p.m.

The station adds that a third deer was found dead on the ice.
