Holyoke Community Comes Together to Celebrate Three Kings Day
January 4th, 2013
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — Tonight was the annual Three Kings Celebration at Holyoke High School.
Over a thousand people filled the school’s cafeteria to celebrate the Three Kings visiting Jesus after his birth.
There was food, music, and dancing, plus a reenactment of the arrival of the Kings.
Organizers say it’s a treasured tradition in the city.
Holyoke’s Literacy Coordinator, Andrew MelendezĀ told us, “This is a great day for the city; we can celebrate Three Kings Day, and really celebrate the Puerto Rican heritage together.”
What’s more, all of the children at the event went home with a new book.
