CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB) – A man is under arrest after allegedly trying to set his estranged wife’s house on fire.
24-year-old Joel LaBonte has been arrested and charged with one count of arson of a dwelling.
Jennifer Mieth, spokesperson for the State Fire Marshal’s office, says that state and local fire investigators determined that a fire set at 119 Lukasik Street Thursday was “intentionally set.”
A neighbor told ABC40 Thursday afternoon that he saw a sport utility vehicle pull up to the home Thursday afternoon, then leave a short time later. He then saw fire coming from the house and called 911.
Mieth adds that the home belongs to LaBonte’s estranged wife.
No injuries were reported in the blaze and the fire caused about $30,000 in damage.
LaBonte is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Chicopee District Court.

What is with people…if your relationship is over, walk away. There are others out there. Why must you always try to hurt the one you leave?!?!?!
Wow! Crazy!!
By the looks of the photo, “allegedly trying” is somewhat of an understatement.
